Tatzenladen Slippery Elm Bark, 150 g pouch

Slippery Elm is a member of the Elm (Ulmus) family. It is the inner bark of the Elm tree that is used for herb products. The bark is highly mucilaginous "slippery".

Slippery Elm’s soothing effects to irritated mucosa and membranes is due to its content of mucilage. The powdered bark has been shown to neutralize acidity and protect mucous membranes along the gastro intestinal tract, by coating the membrane surface. This can help the irritated area to heal themselves

The dosing of slippery elm to be given depends on the condition of the cat taking it. For cats, 1/4 tsp. Slippery Elm Bark Powder thoroughly mixed with approx. 10 ml water is recommended, depending on the condition.

Please note
Slippery Elm can interfere with the absorption of certain nutrients as well as pharmaceuticals, so is best given separately from any therapy.
